One Assessment. Many Buyers.
Reducing audit fatigue in garment and textile supply chains through the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP).
Converged Assessment. Verified Data. Better Collaboration
Why SLCP Matters
Less Duplication. More Consistency.
Garment factories supplying several buyers often face repeated social compliance assessments. Each one means extra paperwork, disrupted production and less time for real improvement.
The Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) offers a common way to collect and share data on working conditions across global supply chains.
- One standard framework: the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF)
- Verification by an SLCP-approved verifier
- Data shared through the SLCP Gateway
- Facilities decide who can view their data
Because the same facts should not have to be collected again and again.
How the SLCP Process Works
From Self-Assessment to Verified Data.
- Self-Assessment: The facility registers on the SLCP Gateway and completes the CAF, with supporting evidence ready.
- On-site Verification: An SLCP-approved verifier visits the facility and checks the information against evidence.
- Quality Review: The verified assessment goes through the applicable SLCP quality processes.
- Data Sharing: The verified data is shared through the SLCP Gateway with the stakeholders the facility chooses.
What SLCP Is and Is Not
Clear Expectations. Right Understanding.
SLCP is not a certification programme and not a pass/fail audit. It is a way to collect and share reliable social and labour assessment data.
The facility owns its assessment data and chooses who can see it. Whether a buyer accepts SLCP data in place of its own assessment is that buyer’s decision, so factories should confirm this with each key customer
Creating Value Beyond Compliance. Strengthening Transparency. Reducing Repetition.
SLCP helps factories and brands:
- Reduce repeated assessments where buyers accept shared data
- Work from consistent, comparable information
- Improve confidence in data through verification
- Identify areas that need attention and plan corrective actions
- Collaborate using one common framework
Getting Ready for SLCP
Preparation Makes Verification Smoother.
- Register your facility on the SLCP Gateway
- Gather policies, records and supporting evidence early
- Review your practices against the CAF before the visit
- Choose an SLCP-approved Verification Body
- Ask your key buyers whether they accept SLCP data
